Bedrooms, beds and guest capacity: read a villa description carefully

A bedroom count, a bed count and a permitted guest limit answer different questions. Check all three before deciding whether a villa fits your group.

Count people before counting rooms

Create a private list of the people travelling and their room-sharing preferences. Include children in the questions you send to the provider rather than assuming they are excluded from occupancy rules. If guests arrive on different dates, explain the changing group size. Do not publish names, ages or personal arrangements in a public directory submission.

A maximum-guest figure describes an occupancy limit supplied for the property. It does not establish how comfortable the sleeping arrangements will be for your group. Ask whether that figure includes sofa beds, temporary beds or rooms outside the main building. Keep the permitted limit distinct from your own preferred number of people.

Comparison prompts: Count your guests → Map sleeping rooms → Check bathrooms → Confirm occupancy.

Ask for a room-by-room description

For each sleeping room, ask about bed configuration, whether the room is separate, and how it connects to the rest of the property. A photo of two beds does not establish that both are in a separate bedroom. If a guest needs a ground-floor room, ask for a precise location and access description instead of relying on a floor count.

Clarify any annex, guest house or detached room. Ask whether it is included in the quoted arrangement and whether it has separate access. These details can matter to guests with young children or different privacy expectations. Do not infer an additional bedroom from a closed door or an image caption that lacks an explanation.

Read the bathroom count with context

Ask whether bathrooms are full or partial, private or shared, and where they are located. A decimal count can mean different things in different sources. Request an explanation of the actual facilities rather than converting an ambiguous number into a promise. Record the provider’s wording and checked date.

Consider daily routines: several people leaving at once may need a different arrangement from guests spending an unhurried day at the villa. Ask whether a bathroom is reached through someone else’s bedroom or outside the main living space. These are practical comparison details, not reasons to assume that one layout is universally better.

Check shared living space too

Compare dining seats, shaded seating, storage and the equipment needed for your group’s plans. A property may permit a certain number of guests without offering the same number of places at every table. Ask about the facilities you will actually use and leave unconfirmed details marked unknown.

If working remotely is part of the stay, ask about the actual workspace and current connection information. Do not translate the presence of Wi-Fi into a guaranteed speed or uninterrupted service. Similarly, a kitchen photograph does not establish cookware quantities or the suitability of equipment for a particular group meal.

Get one consistent confirmation

Send a short summary of the room arrangement and guest count you understand, then ask the responsible provider to confirm it. Keep the reply with the property identity and date. Aruba’s official villa overview provides general accommodation context, but an overview is not a floor plan for any particular rental. The directory stores supplied capacity facts; reservations and final occupancy terms must be agreed directly.
