Check the villa, the provider and the source: three separate records

A villa name, a management business and an information source are related, but they are not interchangeable. Keeping them separate makes updates and comparisons more reliable.

Identify the actual property

Start with the property name used by the source and any stable identifier supplied by the provider. A descriptive name can change, and similar names can refer to different accommodation. Keep the source link and locality beside the name. Do not assume that two attractive galleries describe the same villa just because a title looks similar.

The directory’s villa scope excludes general-home, apartment and condo datasets unless an explicit future strategy approves a particular record. A promotional rental card in the sidebar is an advertisement, not evidence for creating a native villa listing. Keeping these boundaries clear avoids copying unrelated accommodation across network domains.

Identify property; Identify provider; Check original source; Date the review
Comparison prompts: Identify property → Identify provider → Check original source → Date the review.

Identify who is responsible

Ask which business or person is responsible for supplying the accommodation information and handling enquiries. A property owner, a manager and a marketing platform may have different roles. Record the role that is actually supported, along with a current public website or contact route. Do not invent an ownership relationship from a logo.

If a provider represents several villas, its stable provider identifier should remain separate from each property identifier. That allows a future update to contact details without merging different properties. Private account details and identity documents should not be placed in public listing fields; use an appropriate private verification process when one is required.

Keep regulatory claims narrow

An October 2026 Government of Aruba notice describes an action plan for vacation-rental registration and regulation. It explicitly distinguishes registration from permission or legalization. Do not interpret a provider’s registration statement as proof of every permit, or infer a property’s status from its neighbourhood or category.

Current requirements and the position of an individual property must be checked through the responsible authority and qualified advisers where needed. This article does not determine compliance or give legal advice. The useful directory practice is to preserve the exact claim, its issuing source and the checked date without expanding it into an unsupported approval badge.

Distinguish two kinds of date

A provider-update date says when the source reports changing its information. An editorial-check date says when someone reviewed that source. They may be different. Neither should be automatically replaced by the date a page was opened or a WordPress post was saved. If the original date is unknown, keep it unknown.

For an amenity change, note which fact changed and which source supports it. For an image, keep the rights holder and permitted use as well as the source. A current photograph can still lack permission for republication; a licensed old photograph can still be inaccurate evidence of the present condition.

Resolve conflicts without silent merging

When sources disagree about an address, guest limit or provider identity, mark the conflict for review. Do not average numeric values or choose the more attractive claim. Ask the responsible source, preserve the dated answer and update the correct stable record. No listing dataset is imported in this initial build; those checks belong in the separately approved data-import process.
