A practical villa amenity checklist: pool, kitchen and air conditioning

An amenity icon can hide important differences. Ask what a feature includes, who can use it and when the information was last checked.

Turn a feature into a specific question

Begin with the features that matter to your stay. Instead of asking whether a villa has everything, name the requirement: a particular sleeping-room cooling arrangement, equipment for everyday cooking or exclusive use of an outdoor space. The answer should describe the actual property, not repeat a general portfolio description.

Amenity evidence needs a source and scope. A current provider reply may establish what the provider states; it does not mean this directory has inspected the property. Where a fact has not been checked, leave it unknown. Do not treat a blank field as proof that a facility is absent, and do not turn an advertisement into independent certification.

Clarify private and shared pool use

If pool use matters, ask whether the pool is exclusive to the villa or shared with other accommodation. Clarify access times, any known temporary closures and which areas are included. A photograph with no other guests in it does not establish exclusive use. Keep the pool description separate from any claim about a beach or sea access.

Guests with children or specific supervision needs should ask about the actual layout and access arrangements. A gallery cannot certify safety. Request current factual information from the provider and make your own appropriate arrangements. This checklist does not assess a pool, replace supervision or guarantee that any facility suits a particular guest.

Check the kitchen rather than the label

Ask about the appliances and equipment needed for your plans. Cooking facilities can range from a limited preparation area to a more fully equipped kitchen. Clarify whether it is private, whether any equipment is unavailable and whether there are rules affecting use. Keep the reply connected to the exact property being compared.

For groups, ask about practical quantities such as dining places or cookware rather than inferring them from a wide-angle photograph. If a dietary need affects equipment requirements, explain the relevant question privately to the provider. Do not assume that a listing’s kitchen label guarantees equipment free from particular allergens or any specialized preparation standard.

Ask which rooms are cooled

Air conditioning should be described by room or zone where possible. Ask whether it covers sleeping rooms, living spaces or only selected areas, and clarify any operating restrictions or separately stated charges directly. Fans, open-air spaces and air-conditioned rooms are not interchangeable descriptions.

Likewise, ask whether a terrace is shaded at the time you expect to use it rather than inferring all-day shade from one picture. Small scope questions often reveal more than a long list of icons. Keep unknowns visible until an answer is supplied, and avoid inventing energy policies, charges or comfort guarantees.

Use a dated comparison sheet

For each important amenity, record the provider’s exact explanation, evidence date and outstanding question. Reconfirm material details before making arrangements. The official Aruba vacation-rental guide is useful background on the accommodation category; it cannot confirm a particular pool, appliance or cooling system. Directory information supports a comparison and does not provide live operational status or reservation processing.
